It's day two of the Civil Rights and Human Rights Symposium here in Albany.

Today's festivities kicked off at the Albany Civil Rights Institute. Guest speakers were Charles and Shirley Sherrod, and former Albany Civil Rights Institute Director Lee Formwalt, who talked about their experiences during the Civil Rights Movement in Albany.

"What we are attempting to do is to look at what has happened in the past, what is happening currently and what we can use from the past and current to move forward to the future,” said Dr. James L. Hill,

The Symposium will continue on Monday and Tuesday at Albany State University.
