ALBANY, GA (WALB) - A Student Advisory Council, was established in September, to facilitate the educational experience for young people.
Three representatives from each high school meet once a month to discuss ways to improve the system.
Albany High junior Brandon Fenn presented the idea to Superintendent David Mosely.
"In education we must all be on one accord and following the same vision. So we actually aligned our goals, attendance, school safety, our graduation rate, our dropout rate as being our four main goals that we're trying to tackle this year, alongside with our district leaders," said Fenn.
The students are currently planning a 5-K race that will be held in April. They're also creating a 9th grade transition program for students entering high school.
