ALBANY, GA (WALB) - ?
Albany High students and staff joined a nationwide Tornado drill Wednesday morning to continue Severe Weather Preparedness Week.
Students at Albany High followed instruction once the siren was heard.
The safety coordinator says the students worked quickly but there will be improvements made.
"We got down in our appropriate time, in less than three minutes. We got everybody formed down," said Melinda Suber "There's always room for improvement. That's why you have drills. You practice and get ready for the real one."
Wednesday is Tornado Safety day for Severe Weather Preparedness week. All Georgians are encouraged to identify the safest location at home, school or work in case of a twister.
