WORTH CO., GA (WALB) - Family and Friends are raising money to help a Worth County family who lost everything in a New Year's Eve house fire.
A Yard sale will be held this weekend for 20-year-old Brittany Michaud and her family.
Michaud spent five days at the Augusta burn center after she was injured when food left on the stove ignited.
She escaped by jumping out a window.
Friends hope to help her get a new car and home.
" She actually just got accepted into Darton. She wants to study physical therapy and they lost the family car in the fire. Right now they're having a really hard time getting back and forth and it's going to get even more difficult when she starts school. So that's our main goal," said
The yard sale will be at the Worthit2udot net parking lot Saturday from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m.
They're accepting donations until Friday.
If you are interested in donating call Heather at 229-206-6654.
