Irwin Co. highway back open after fiery wreck

IRWIN CO., GA (WALB) - Hwy. 32 in Irwin County is back open after two trucks collided this afternoon, according to Georgia Department of Transportation.

Georgia State Patrol said that a man in a flat bed truck going towards Irwinville in the westbound lane of Hwy. 32 ran off the road, hit a ditch and then over-corrected himself.

This caused him to hit an 18-wheeler that was heading towards Ocillia in the eastbound lane.

That's when the second truck erupted into flames. The woman driving that vehicle was not injured.

However, the man in the flat bed truck later went to the hospital for an evaluation.

GSP said they received the call at 2:43 p.m.
