Echols School burglary suspects caught

STATENVILLE, GA (WALB) - The Echols County Sheriff's Office has concluded their investigation of the burglary that occurred at the Elementary School on the night of January 24. 

Arrested were two Lowndes County Residents whom took up temporary shelter in an abandoned house, which was located near the school. 

Donald Shadix, 31 and Tina Sampson, 46 were charged with Felony Burglary, Felony Possession of a controlled substance, Felony Tampering With Evidence, Felony Theft By Receiving Stolen Property. 

Bags full of items stolen in the burglary included thousands of dollars of laptop computers, I-pads, cell phones, rolls of stamps, keyboards, digital camcorder, and an unknown amount of money. 

The stolen property was recovered by the Echols County Sheriff's Office at a residence located in Lowndes County. 

Shadix and Sampson were arrested and transported to the Lowndes County Jail for processing.

Sheriff Randy Courson would like to commend his staff for their hard work and dedication in solving the case and recovering the stolen property.
