TIFT CO., GA (WALB) - The brother of a murder victim is relieved after his sister's husband was charged with her death--bringing some closure to the grief.
The house at 17 Chula Brookfield Road is where Peggy Thompson was found dead in October. Now, her husband Timmy Thompson is charged with killing her.
"I was shocked until I heard the kids talking about instances that had happened at the house," said her brother Terry Normand.
Normand says the past four months have been difficult--waiting for the day when someone would be held accountable for his sister's death.
"It's been very difficult for everybody. We've had a lot of questions. We've had to be very very patient. There were times where we were given information and it wasn't the complete truth," said Normand.
He says the couple had problems over their 20-plus years together, but they kept big issues to themselves.
An incident report shows deputies were called to the Thompson home October 26th, three days before her death.
"She was taken from us. She was taken from her kids; her grandchild that was on the way. I just have faith in the justice system that justice will be served," said Normand.
Until that justice is served, Normand says he and family members will remember her for the wonderful mother of 2 she was.
"Just a loving mother. Stay at home mom basically all of her life," said Normand.
Deputies won't tell us how she was killed.
