TIFTON, GA (WALB) - The Tifton City Hall is back in their downtown location after almost two years away. City officials began moving into the Myon downtown last week.
Nearly $2 million worth of renovations was done to the building, including fixing the foundation. The mayor said the location is good for the city and local businesses.
"While somebody is down paying a bill, they can go back out and we have several nice stores, nice restaurants that are downtown. So it kind of re-ups the downtown. We've really missed not being here," said Tifton mayor Jamie Cater.
Cater said it will be another month or two before council meetings will be held downtown.
