DECATUR CO., GA (WALB) - The Decatur County commission agreed to lift a suspension that banned the city of Bainbridge from using the county's landfill.
Commissioners believe the decision will not only improve the relationship between the city and county, but also provide convenience to the city.
Since last spring, the city has dumped their solid waste at a site in Florida.
Decatur county Administrator Colonel Gary Breedlove said, “With the change of commissioners and the new year, the sentiment was to just clear that out, lift the suspension, and if they need to use the landfill, they can use the landfill.”
Breedlove said the landfill brings in more than $2 million in gross revenue each year.
