Red Cross and fire department stepping up for fire victims

WORTH CO., GA (WALB) - The Worth County Fire Department and American Red Cross are helping a family who lost everything in a house fire Monday night. Shannon Pettiford's home caught fire just after 11 Monday night--displacing her, her boyfriend, and her daughter.

The fire department and Red Cross are collecting donations for the family at the fire station.

"They don't know how they're going to get over all of this and I think being there immediately and giving them the help we give them, It gives them hope. The first sign of hope they have," said Red Cross and Worth County fire volunteer Michael Chivok.

Chivok says the Red Cross is in desperate need of volunteers and donations.

The clothing sizes are listed for each family member:

Shannon Pettiford. 14 pants. Large shirt. 9.5 shoe. 

Jaquayvinn Pettiford son. Size 7 Pants and shirt. 3.5 shoe. 

Jalario Williams 44-46 pants 3x shirt. 11 shoe.
