Cordele police are asking for the public's help to identify two men who robbed the Dollar General on 16th street just before 10 p.m. Sunday.

The two black men entered the store just before it closed.

One of them had a gun. Another wore a red shirt under his jacket, but they were mostly wearing dark clothing, gloves, and masks.

They demanded money from a clerk then ran out the back door.

Police urge businesses to lock doors quickly when closing, have good quality surveillance equipment in several areas, and make sure the area around the building is well-lit.

"Video cameras are always good," said Sgt. Jeremy Taylor. "Post that you have video cameras. Post that you don't keep cash on hand that everything goes into a time lock safe. All those little steps that would deter people from ever entering the building to do something like that."

Anyone who recognizes the men in the video is urged to call Cordele Police at 229-273-3102.
