SYLVESTER, GA (WALB) - Sylvester Police are working to build better relationships with the people of their city.
The department has formed a Crime Prevention Unit, headed by Sergeant Steve Dyes. The unit will host events and help build Neighborhood Crime Watches to benefit the community.
"He's getting equipment in and he's getting a list together of all the people he's going to contact and also he's excited about it and we're excited about it," said Lt. Kenneth Washington.
The next meeting for Sergeant Dyes will be tomorrow with city officials to work on events for students this summer.
They're also hosting a job Fair at Worth County High School next month on the 27th to help students find a career path.
