Albany police say they are disappointed in the low turnout for "Operation Identification."
Law enforcers offered to engrave or register people's items for free at their Law Enforcement Center downtown. Police say they wish they had a better turnout, but will try hosting this event again next month.
"We put this function on for citizens to have the opportunity to personalize their property in the event that if it's stolen that we can make sure that we can, when we recover it, we can get it back to them," said Cpl. Brian Covington. "So the fact, that turnout wasn't great today, it's disappointing."
Albany police will host the event again on February 7th at the Law Enforcement Center from 9 to 3. You can also call the police department to have them engrave bigger items at your home.
