DOUGLAS, GA (WALB) - Douglas Coffee Drug Unit had a busy 2014.
They made more than 400 arrests last year.
The number of cases was up in just about every drug category.
Lieutenant Michael Leslie said the increase is due partly to good cooperation between Douglas and Coffee County law enforcement.
But he said they have seen more meth and illegal prescription drug activity.
"The majority of the drugs that we see are pain killers," Lt. Leslie said.
Lt. Leslie said the department is taking a stronger stance on such drugs, in order to discourage their usage.
In all last year, the D-C-D-U seized more than $52,000 in cash, four cars and 39 weapons from drug suspects.
