Moultrie police impersonation charge dropped

MOULTRIE, GA (WALB) -

A man was charged with impersonating a police officer in Colquitt County, but the charge was dropped, and the district attorney did not prosecute.

Police say 47-year-old David Cass told the manager of Dogwood Plaza Tuesday that he was a police officer and needed to speak with resident Linda Young about dropping a case against Linda Kreigbaum.

Last week Kreigbaum was charged with stealing Young's wallet from her apartment.

Kreigbaum was taken to the Colquitt County Jail.

Cass, who disputed the charge, soon bonded out, and his attorney, Robert Jewell, declined to comment on the case.

District Attorney Keith Allen did not bring the case to trial, and dropped the charge.
