AMERICUS, GA (WALB) - A man accused of breaking into an Americus school confessed to a series of other crimes. 25-year old Shawn Dollar is in jail on 7 felony charges.
Americus police and Sumter County sheriff's investigators worked together to arrest him yesterday afternoon. They say he broke into Americus-Sumter High School early Wednesday night. Investigators say he admitted to thefts of six vehicles dating back to the middle of last year.
"Solved a burglary, thefts of several automobiles, and it clears out a lot of cases and stuff to where you can move on," said Sheriff Pete Smith.
Sheriff Smith says they're still investigating to see if Dollar is tied to other entering auto cases.
