CORDELE, GA (WALB) - Law enforcers in Crisp County are investigating a string of overnight car break-ins.
At least 8 cars were broken into on 27th Avenue East last night.
Investigators from the Sheriff's Office and police department spent their afternoons dusting for fingerprints.
Car owners say the doors were locked, but no windows were broken on most of the cars.
"For the past few weeks we have been stepping up patrols, concentrating [on] specific areas and we'll continue those patrols in an effort to make contact with somebody that shouldn't be in the neighborhood or crime that is in progress," said Sgt. Ben Bray with the Crisp County Sheriff's Office.
At least one gun was stolen in the break-ins.
Anyone with information is asked to call Cordele Police at (229) 276-2921 or the Crisp County Sheriff's Office at (229) 276-2600.
