Albany Technical College is putting the finishing touches on their new courtroom simulation lab students will start using next month.
It includes pieces dismantled from the old Albany Federal Courtroom in November of 2013. Albany Tech carpentry students put the courtroom back together. The new classroom will help students in the Law Enforcement program get comfortable being inside a courtroom.
"We want to present to our students that our law enforcement students, perhaps, correctional officers, at some point in their career, they will find themselves in a courtroom, in a witness box, and to go ahead and have that familiarity with it," said Lynn Miller, Law Enforcement Instructor.
Students will conduct mock trials and hearings in the lab.
A ribbon cutting is set for February 4th.
