Moultrie police search for serial armed robbers

Moultrie police are investigating a series of armed robberies. One suspect is in jail and officers need help finding two others.

Moultrie police say Martin Diego was walking along the 400 block of 6th street Southeast Friday night around 8 o'clock when he was robbed and assaulted by two men.

"The guy with the gun told Martin, give me the money,” said Inv. Raul Leal.

Investigators say 21-year-old Andre Daniels hit Diego in the head with a gun. The two men stole his cellphone. Just five blocks away, Police say the two men tried to rob Scott White while he was at the ATM at the Bank of America.

"He was able to escape, he was able to get into his vehicle,” said Leal.

The two men then focused their attention on Rychard Coates who was parked in his vehicle at the same bank.

"These two guys were able to take various items from the victim, a cellphone, his wallet and a couple of other items,” said Leal.

Police say the robberies happened within a span of 30 minutes and that all of the victims provided the same dark colored clothing descriptions of the suspects.

"These calls came in simultaneously, because it took them a while to call 911,” said Leal.

Police caught Daniels shortly after the robberies a few blocks away from Bank of America with two of the victims' cellphones. Investigators believe one of the men in the surveillance image outside the Moultrie plaza was Daniels accomplice and they think both of these men targeted Martin Diego again yesterday in the 400 block of 6th street Southeast.

"He was threatened with a firearm and he was robbed of an undetermined amount of money,” said Leal.

Investigators are now trying to gather more surveillance video to help in their search for the robbers.

Andre Daniels is charged with two counts of armed robbery and two counts of aggravated assault. He remains in the Colquitt County Jail. If you recognize the two men in those pictures, you're asked to call Moultrie police.
