ALBANY, GA (WALB) - Hundreds of hungry people lined up outside the Albany Civic Center for a good cause on Wednesday.
Pottery artists donate their creations to the annual Empty Bowls event every year, and area restaurants come up with different soup recipes to fill the bowl of their choice.
The cost is $20 per person and the proceeds help the Albany Arts Council and the SOWEGA Council on Aging Meals on Wheels programs.
"It is a raging success," said Nicole Williams with Albany Arts Council. "I'm so excited to see all the people here. Everybody seems to be visiting and enjoying each other, and they're supporting great causes."
The meals on wheels program feeds about 197,000 people a year in Southwest georgia.
