ALBANY, GA (WALB) - Leonard Pope III, former UGA and Kansas City Chiefs star, was arrested Monday afternoon after his girlfriend, Shawanda Hill, called police.
She says he came over to her house on Schley Avenue, and began cursing and yelling, and then punched her alarm system on the wall.
Hill says Pope never touched her, but just damaged the walls and alarm system.
Police noticed Pope's hand bleeding profusely. He was arrested and charged with criminal trespass.
Police say Hill did not want Pope to go to jail, and left abruptly after he was arrested.
He was taken to Phoebe Putney for treatment of his injuries before being booked into the Dougherty County Jail.
