ALBANY, GA (WALB) - Albany city commissioners approved moving forward with a grant that will help document all the historic structures throughout the city.
City staffers say there are thousands of historic structures, 50 years and older, around Albany.
It's part of a multi-phase project to fund a survey to keep track of all the buildings, and decide which ones should be kept.
“Its the starting point of determining whether they can be preserved or should be preserved,” says Paul Forgey, with planning and development.
This is the second year they've applied for the grant through the Department Natural Resources.
