MOULTRIE, GA (WALB) - Members of Friendship Baptist Church in Moultrie celebrated the life of Dr. Martin Luther King during a special evening service on Sunday.
It's the start of a few activities that will go on tomorrow in observance of MLK Day.
Members of the NAACP say they just want people to come together, and remember that Dr. King stood up for everyone's rights.
"We just want our community to come together to celebrate a person that was for all people, he worked for all people. He was not just for black people," says Isabella Brooks, President of Colquitt Co. Branch of the NAACP.
On Monday, festivities include a parade through downtown Moultrie at 2 p.m.
