Dawson teen gives away hundreds of clothes

A Terrell County teen gave away lots of clothes to families in need today.

13-year-old Marquavious Johnson held his first clothing giveaway at the Citgo gas station in Dawson today. He collected more than 15 hundred items of clothing to give away in the last two years. He says tomorrow he'll give the clothes he has left to homeless shelters.

"I'm going to take it to the flea market and sell them, then the money I make off of that I'm going to donate it to the homeless shelter and the American Red Cross," said Marquavious Johnson.

Johnson says his goal is to make his clothing giveaway an annual event to keep people warm. He's still accepting donations. You can make donations to Marquavious Johnson by contacting his father Mark Johnson at 229-894-7064.
