Investigators find suspicious East Albany trailer fire just trash burn

DOUGHERTY CO., GA (WALB) -  Albany Firefighters were called to a suspicious fire involving a partially demolished mobile home in East Albany Wednesday night.  Investigators say it was a trash fire set by the demolition company.

The demolition on the mobile home continued Thursday morning in the back of a Sylvester Road trailer park.  Thomas Westfall of Westfall Demolition said the fire was just smoldering from his clean up pile, and sparked under the mobile home.

"No, it was already tore down when I started cleaning it up," said Westfall.  "That was it.  It was just sitting here.  I was cleaning up the lot, somebody called the fire department."

Fire Department Investigators warned Westfall not to burn anymore in his clean up.
