TIFTON, GA (WALB) - South Georgia peanut farmers gathered in Tifton Thursday for the annual South Georgia Peanut Show.
Farmers had the opportunity to discuss what worked well for them last season and what didn't. They also had an opportunity to learn about new techniques and equipment available in the peanut industry.
One vendor said they have been coming to the event for several years and the event is a great opportunity for peanut farmers. "Every exhibitor here has something that is unique to another one and it gives them a lot more options to make management decisions," said Growers Mineral Solutions District Manager Edward Bulcher.
The South Georgia Peanut show used to be held in Albany.
Peanut farmers will likely start planting in late March or early April.
