THOMASVILLE, GA (WALB) - Folks in Thomasville should expect to see an increase in their utility bills this year.
The City Council approved increases for water, wastewater, natural gas, sanitation, and CNS television services.
CNS telephone and internet services will not be affected.
The city said it must adjust rates periodically to continue to have no property or fire taxes.
Marketing Director Sheryl Sealy said, “We want to keep the cost of living as low as we can in Thomasville. We are very fortunate here that we have such a wonderful community with so many vibrant services. We just want to make sure that it's something that our customers can continue enjoying at the level of service they're used to receiving it at.”
The new rates will be effective next month.
