Sumter Humane Society offering reduced spay and neuters

AMERICUS, GA (WALB) - A grant from a Utah organization helps pet owners in Sumter County. The humane society is now offering 100 spay and neuters for only 20 dollars.

You must live in Sumter County and be a senior, student, or on government assistance. The director says this grant attacks the real problem of abandoned animals.

"The only way we're going to fix the problem with all of the abandoned pets is to not have them. It's cutting out the puppies, cutting down on the puppies and the kittens and that's one thing that our shelter really focuses on," said Sumter Humane Society Director Ruth Olson.

Olson thanks the vets in Sumter County for working with the Humane Society to make this possible.
