VALDOSTA, GA (WALB) - 32 year-old Darron Hollis, of Quitman, was behind bars in Lowndes County Wednesday accused of breaking in to a storage locker at a Valdosta apartment complex.
Just after 8:30 Tuesday morning, Valdosta Police got a call about someone breaking into storage units behind the Villa Valdos apartment complex at 1425 E. Park Avenue.
The citizen gave a description of the offender and indicated that he had used a hammer to break the lock off of one of the units. Valdosta Police Department Lieutenant Aaron Kirk said it is unclear if the caller was a resident at the apartment complex.
"Officers arrived on scene, actually found him still inside the unit," said Lt. Kirk. "He apparently had used the hammer to break the lock. The hammer was found on him. Mr. Darron Hollis was arrested without incident."
As of Wednesday, Hollis was facing charges of Burglary and Possession of Tools for the Commission of a Crime.
Kirk said that it was still unclear Wednesday why Hollis may have chosen the storage lockers at the Villa Valdos apartment complex.
Anyone having any further information regarding this crime or any other crime is urged to contact the Valdosta Police Department at 229-293-3145 or can remain anonymous at 229-293-3091.
