BAINBRIDGE, GA (WALB) - Bainbridge State College meets a goal of collecting more than a million dollars in contributions.

Last year, the college decided to create its first capital campaign to focus on more student scholarships, building new programs, and incorporating more innovative technology into the classrooms.

More than 500 donors gave a total of more than $1.3 million.

Executive Director of Institutional Advancement Lauren Harrell said, “It's a huge milestone.  It took 40 years for our foundation to raise their first million.  And for us to surpass 1.3 million in one year was amazing.”

The “Deeply Rooted. Future Driven” Capital Campaign will officially conclude at the end of 2019.
