Monroe High launches new initiative to get parents involved

ALBANY, GA (WALB) -

Monroe High School administrators are working to get parents more involved in their kids school activities.

It's a new initiative called Tornado Tuesdays.

On Tuesday, they'll have two meetings for parents, one in the morning, and one in the evening.

This meeting is called "The Tassel is worth the Hassle." Its for all grade levels, and will talk about all the work that goes into graduation.

“Studies have shown. Statistics have shown in the past where parents are visible, where parents are viable, where parents are in touch with the school, and very active in their children's lives they do better,” says Steven Dudley, Assistant Principal at Monroe High School.

The first meeting will be at 10 a.m. and the second at 6 p.m. Parents can check in at the front desk, and will meet in the Parent Resource Room.
