Valdosta man arrested after woman was shot

VALDOSTA, GA (WALB) - A woman was shot in the arm Saturday in Valdosta, and a man was arrested soon afterward.

Valdosta Police say approximately 6:45 pm, officers responded to the KFC at 1207 N. Ashley Street, after 28-year-old Whitney Myers told employees that she had been shot, as she was driving out of the Ora Lee West Housing Complex, 

She said a white man wearing a dark blue shirt, shot at her. EMS arrived and transported Myers to the ER. 

Officers searching the area located a white man, Steven Jolly, who matched the description, near the intersection of N. Troup Street and E. Brookwood Drive.  Jolly was armed.

Detectives say Jolly had been walking through the Ora Lee West Complex, firing his gun.

Jolly has been charged with Aggravated Assault and Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of a Crime.
