Suspects sought after Auto Pawn robbery

CORDELE, GA (WALB) -

Police are searching for two men they say robbed a pawn shop. Officers were called to Georgia Auto Pawn on East 16th Avenue just after 11 a.m. Monday after an armed robbery was reported.

Investigators said two black men wearing dark clothes entered the store and demanded money from an employee. One of the men was armed with a pistol, and showed it during the robbery.

Officers noted that neither of the men had their faces covered at the time. Police said one of the men was 5'4" tall and the other was 6'0" tall.

"We're hoping we pull some fingerprints off the surfaces that they touched inside the store and their fingerprints will be in the database and therefore lead to an identity of the suspects," said Sgt. Jeremy Taylor with the Cordele Police Department.

Taylor says the men may have gotten into a car or ran to a residential area after the robbery.

Anyone with information is asked to call Cordele Police at (229) 276-2921 or anonymously at (229) 273-COPS.
