Police investigate killing at Gainesville hotel

GAINESVILLE, Ga. (AP) - State and local law officers are investigating a killing at a Gainesville hotel.

Authorities say the homicide occurred Saturday at the Sun Suites Hotel in the northeast Georgia city.

The Times reports that Gainesville police and the Georgia Bureau of Investigation are investigating, and that authorities haven't released details about the victim, nor have they said how he or she was killed.

Gainesville police spokesman Cpl. Kevin Holbrook said a 911 call was placed around 2 p.m. Saturday by a Sun Suites employee.

Gainesville police Cpl. Joe Britte said investigators didn't know whether the victim was a resident of the hotel.

WSB-TV reports that a Dumpster in the hotel's parking was hauled away by police. Holbrook said it would be placed in police custody and processed for evidence.
