CORDELE, GA (WALB) - A Cordele man is in the hospital tonight after getting stuck in sawmill equipment at Griffin Lumber Company. 29-year old Corey Lynn got his arm caught just after 6 Friday morning.
Workers cut off the machinery before Lynn lost his arm, and EMS took him to Crisp Regional Hospital. He was then airlifted to Macon where he remains Friday night.
Fire Chief Ray Lunsford says it's important for workers to remain vigilant around machinery.
"Need to being paying close attention to what's going on. Loose clothing is a problem, not paying attention to what the machinery is doing is a problem. Anything can get you into a difficult spot," said Crisp County Fire Chief Ray Lunsford.
Lynn just started working at Griffin Lumber a couple of weeks ago.
