ALBANY, GA (WALB) - The Affordable Care Act could affect your taxes this year.
If you don't have health insurance you pay a fine.
A lot of people are confused, so H&R Block offices in south Georgia and around the country offered free advice on the subject Thursday. This is the biggest change in tax code in the last 20 years.
The office on Cordele Road in Albany had a good showing of people asking questions.
"There is a box everyone will have to check one way or the other, if they have insurance or if they don't and received it through the marketplace there will be possible implications they will have to go through," said Sidney Hanson.
H&R Block representatives say if you missed today's special effort to educate taxpayers about the implications of the ACA, you can still drop by any time to ask questions.
