Phoebe nurse wins first DAISY Award

Phoebe nurse wins first DAISY Award

A nurse at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital is recognized and honored for her hard work.

Caroline Shennett received the first DAISY Award for Extraordinary Nurses today. Shennett works on the 7th floor at Phoebe's Main Campus. She was nominated by a patient's family who appreciated  the care she gave.

"Overwhelmed, there are thousands of nurses I'm sure that work for Phoebe and they'd do the same thing that I do and to be nominated as the first one is awesome," said Caroline Shennett, DAISY Award Winner. "I feel great, my heart is just running away."

A nurse will be selected to receive the award each month based on staff criteria. In addition to receiving a certificate, winners will also be given a sculpture called "A Healer's Touch" carved by artists of the Shona Tribe in Africa.
