Three Albany businesses burglarized

ALBANY, GA (WALB) -   Smash and grab burglars hit three neighboring businesses in Albany early Thursday morning.

They smashed the glass window at the Singer Vacuum and Sewing Machine store in the 1900 block of Dawson Road and stole the cash register, Sewing machines, and tools.

The C-D Exchange was closed Thursday after a similar break-in there.

Crooks also ransacked the adjacent barber shop and stole Robert Taylor's hair cutting tools and cash.

"We  just keep plugging along here," said Taylor. "And maybe somebody will catch them.  It's all you can hope for. Ain't nobody trying to do anything about it."

The sewing machines are useless because the crooks did not take the control pedals.

Three other nearby businesses reported people broke windows over the weekend, trying to get inside.
