VALDOSTA, GA (WALB) -

Valdosta Police continued to search late Thursday afternoon for the suspect who robbed a donut shop.

At 2:15 p.m. Thursday, police say a black man walked into Dixie Cream Donuts at 804 North Oak Street, showed a gun, and demanded money.

There were no customers in the store at the time. The suspect took money and then ran away on foot. "Produced a gun at that point, a handgun. Demanded that the cash be turned over," said Valdosta Police Department Captain Bobbi McGraw. "The person was described as being approximately 5 feet five, very slender build. African American male wearing some type of hoodie."

A K-9 unit was also brought in to help search the surrounding area.
