ALBANY, GA (WALB) - If you wake up to icy windshields on your vehicle in the morning, mechanics warn not to use warm or hot water to defrost them.
The extreme temperature difference could crack the glass.
Instead, they recommend using the vehicles defroster or an ice scraper.
Gieryic's Automotive Repair on Dawson Road suggests putting towels over the windshield the night before. That way, the towel gets the frost.
"So when you came out in the morning, you just took the towel off window and presto, you had a clean window shield," said mechanic Tom Gieryic.
If you have a garage, you should probably keep your vehicle in it to keep it away from the moisture and cold.
