ALBANY, GA (WALB) - Water, Gas, and Light will not cut off service for unpaid bills with freezing temperatures are expected across the area. The utility suspends cutoffs when temperatures drop below freezing to ensure people have a way to stay warm and safe.
When the temperatures rise though, customers behind on their bills will be expected to pay up.
"When it's cold outside, we can't cut off the services. You have families; you have pets; you have elderly people. So, we want to make sure that you still have the service because it's freezing temperatures under 32 degrees," said Marketing Manager Monique Broughton.
Temperatures may be drop as low as the upper teens later this week.
