The Dawson Mayor is sworn in for his second term.

Mayor Christopher Wright was sworn in at City Hall to begin his second term today. Ward I Councilman, Artie Gardner, was also sworn in to begin his third term.

Wright who was shot six times in October of 2013 says he's looking forward to maintaining a strong relationship with the community through his slogan "Believe Dawson."

"So we want to get the community more engaged,” said Mayor Christopher Wright. “You know there's a limit to what politicians, and what the government can do according to the law, but there are some things that the community can do to help improve itself."

"I want everybody working together to bring Dawson as one,” said Artie Gardner, Ward I Councilman.

Wright also says he's also planning some retreats with the city council to help brainstorm new ideas for the city.
