Family and friends are rallying behind a Worth County woman who was burned in a New Year's Eve house fire.
20-year-old Brittany Michaud's home burned to the ground after family members say she fell asleep while food was on the stove. Michaud jumped out of a window and suffered burns and cuts to her face and arms. Friends say she, her mother, and step-brother now need clothes and home appliances.
"She's lost everything, I mean everything," said Kristta Burrell, Brittany Michaud's Friend. "She has nothing. She just really needs help. She's a sweet girl, she's there for anybody and she's always got a smile on her face."
Michaud remains at the burn center in Augusta where she is in serious condition.
