THOMASVILLE, GA (WALB) -

Police are investigating multiple car break-ins over the past two weeks.

Major Eric Hampton says most of the victims left their cars unlocked.

He says thieves have been targeting unlocked cars in neighborhoods as well as commercial areas.

"They're looking for things that they can get in the vehicle and that they can get real quick. Specifically money, credit cards, things like that," said Hampton. "So that's why it's so important for people to secure their windows and their doors."

Major Hampton encourages anyone to call police if they see any suspicious people or activity.
