Valdosta Police arrested a teen they said was in the middle of a home burglary early Friday morning.

Kenyon Dennis, 17, is charged with burglary.

Officers responded to an alarm activation at 307 W. Gordon Street around 12:30 a.m.

Four suspects, including Dennis were inside at the time. All four tried to run away when police arrived. Dennis was caught but the other three people got away.

"The first officer saw an African American male comin' from a window of the residence, the back of the residence," said Valdosta Police Department Lieutenant Aaron Kirk. "[He] fled on foot. Shortly thereafter, three more African American males were seen exiting another window of the residence."

Dennis was later identified as the first person who ran away.

Kirk said the case is still under investigation. It wasn't clear Friday afternoon exactly what was taken from the home, but Kirk said one of the suspects was seen leaving the home with some type of bag.

Anyone with information is asked to call Valdosta Police at 229-293-3145.
