ALBANY, GA (WALB) - An Albany City Commissioner is encouraging businesses to "thank" area law enforcement.
If you drive down Dawson Road, you'll see signs like these thanking law enforcement.
Ward three commissioner B-J Fletcher put word out a few days ago asking businesses and homeowners to show their support for officers by putting signs on billboards and changing marquees starting January 1st.
"A lot of people have said why can't we make this a January 1st tradition. So maybe we got a year to tweak it. I think last night was a testimony to how our law enforcement works. We basically had a quite night on a big night. We get behind them and they are behind us," said BJ Fletcher.
Fletcher says some businesses ordered yard signs to thank law enforcement.
