ALBANY, GA (WALB) - One of the top new years resolutions to make on the first of January is to quit smoking.
But is it realistic to set a date for the new year? The American Cancer Society says yes.
There are many items on the market and apps to help curb the desire to smoke.
The Cancer Society says it really starts with someone making the decision, and reminds everyone that their website is full of information on ways to help meet their goal.
"It has so much at your fingertips and that's www.cancer.org," said Elyse Atha with Relay for Life. "It has ways to help you quit other than the nicotine therapy and also has information on the side affects of smoking."
Atha says you can also call them at 1-800-227-2345 to talk to someone for support and guidance.
