Two separate shootings narrowly miss victims

ALBANY, GA (WALB) - Another shooting in Albany has one man thankful for his life. Michael Norris was turning off of South Madison when someone shot at his car.

The bullet blew through his door and glove box, destroying that part of his car and narrowly missing him. Norris was dropping a friend off after celebrating the New Year.

"His mom lives back there and I was dropping him off and on my way back home, BAM, I got ready to turn on Emily. Somebody hit my car. I won't be going that way. Not at night and probably not in daytime either though," said Norris.

Norris says he did not see where the shots came from.

A separate shooting across town on North Maple sent one man to the hospital with a gunshot wound to his hand.

Christopher Williford told police he was walking down the sidewalk when a black man started firing shots into the air while he was running.

He says one of them hit his finger, and the shooter kept running. Williford was taken to the hospital by a friend.
