Crooks break into DQ, storage units

ALBANY, GA (WALB) - An east Albany fast food restaurant was hit by a burglar Tuesday night.

The manager of the Dairy Queen on East Oglethorpe Boulevard found the drawers to the cash register out and the money bag empty when he arrived for work at 9:30 Wednesday morning.

The back door to the restaurant was slightly opened and a window was shattered.

Albany Police are also looking for whoever broke into storage units on south Slappey Boulevard. The owner of the storage business noticed items had been thrown from various units when he arrived at the facility this morning around 8:45.

It appears the thief or thieves cut the rear fence and then cut the locks and opened 13 units. Another four units had their locks cut but were the doors were not opened.

Anyone with information on the storage unit or Dairy Queen burglary is asked to call Crimestoppers at 436-tips.
