Thousands of food items were donated to the Terrell County food pantry Tuesday after weeks of collecting donations.
The Terrell County Sheriff's Office partnered with Family Connection for the "Fill the Sheriff's Hummer" food drive. More than 3,500 non-perishable food items were donated and delivered to the Robert Albritten Neighborhood Service Center's food pantry.
"I mean we are so happy to receive this donation. We have plenty of people in the community that are in need of canned goods," said Teresa Pearman, the manager of the service center.
The center's food pantry is open Monday through Friday from 8 am to 5 pm. They always accept donations.
